EMERGENCY COMPENSATION BOARD 
(TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS) ACT
To provide for the disposal of matters pending before the Emergency
Compensation Board.

2. Notwithstanding the repeal or expiry of regulation 59 of
the Malta Defence Regulations, 1939, and of the Compensation
(Emergency) Regulations, 1943, both continued in force by the
Expiring Laws Continuance Act, 1948 † , the Emergency
Compensation Board shall continue in operation, being constituted,
exercising the same functions and proceeding in the same manner
as heretofore, for the purpose of disposing of all cases now pending
before it or which may hereafter be brought before it in respect of
matters falling to be regulated by the said Compensation
(Emergency) Regulations, 1943; and these regulations shall for that
purpose only be deemed to continue in force accordingly.
Saving.
Defence Regulations, 1939, and of the Compensation (Emergency)
Regulations, 1943, shall not in any way affect the validity or effect
of any decision which, before the commencement of this Act, has
been, or, at any time thereafter, in pursuance of this Act may be
given by the Emergency Compensation Board, or affect any right,
obligation or liability, acquired, accrued, or incurred under any
such decision.
