SALE OF FISH REGULATIONS

LEGAL NOTICE 19 of 1977.
Title .
Interpretation.
"fish" includes crustaceans and molluscs;
"fresh" includes frozen or chilled;
"to sell" includes to offer, expose, advertise or keep for sale and
to supply by way of compensation or otherwise.
Sale of unsound 
fish, etc.
3. No person shall sell -
( a ) any fish which is in a state of putrefaction;
( b ) any fish killed by means of narcotics or any other
noxious substance;
( c ) any minced fish manufactured from unsound fish;
( d ) any fresh or prepared fish showing signs of decay or
otherwise deteriorated, or
( e ) any fish which has been treated in a manner contrary
to regulation 5 or 6.
Cold storage of 
fish.
4. (1) No person shall deposit in cold storage any fish which
has not been previously inspected by an authorised officer and
found to be fit for human consumption.
(2) No person shall keep, or allow to be kept, in cold storage
any fish which is in a state of decay or other deterioration.
Use of substance. 
giving an appearance of freshness to any fish intended to be sold
for human consumption, other than sea-salt.
Use of additives.
sale for human consumption; provided that in the case of
crustaceans and molluscs, it shall be lawful to add the preservatives
listed in the Schedule to these Regulations and in the amount
specified therein.
Importation of fish.
in every respect with the provisions of these Regulations.
Non-applicability.
