SALE OF PASTEURISED MILK REGULATIONS

3. No person may sell for human consumption any raw milk
other than to the Manager of the Malta Dairy Products.
Sale of milk other 
than pasteurised.
4. Saving the provision of regulation 3, no person may sell
any milk other than pasteurised milk:
Provided that this prohibition shall not apply to the selling
of preserved milk in sealed and appropriately labelled containers.
When milk is 
deemed to be 
pasteurised.
5. For the purpose of pasteurisation, milk is deemed to have
been so treated when it has been heated -
( a ) to a temperature of not less than 71.7° of the Celsius
Scale (161° F) and kept at that temperature for a period
of not less than fifteen seconds and thereafter cooled
to a temperature of not more than 10 degrees of the
Celsius Scale (50° F) immediately after heat treatment;
or
( b ) to a temperature of not less than 62.8° of the Celsius
Scale (145° F) and kept at that temperature for a period
of not less than thirty minutes, and thereafter cooled to
a temperature of not more than 10° of the Celsius
Scale (50° F) immediately after heat treatment and
which has not been so treated more than once.
Non-applicability 
of regulations.
6. Nothing in these Regulations shall apply to ovine milk.
