ENGLISH TYPE SAUSAGE AND SAUSAGE MEAT 
STANDARDS REGULATIONS

Title.
Sausage Meat Standards Regulations.
Interpretation.
"cereal" includes rice flour and starch;
"English type sausage" means any mixture of uncooked, chopped
or minced beef or pork with cereal and with or without seasoning
whether or not filled into a transparent casing, and popularly
known as English type sausage;
"English type sausage meat" means any mixture of uncooked
chopped or minced beef or pork with cereal and with or without
seasoning;
"meat" means the lean flesh together with fat.

3. No English type sausages or sausage meat may be
imported, manufactured, prepared, served in any catering
establishment or sold as take away food or otherwise unless such
sausages or meat comply with the standards laid down in columns 2
and 3 of the Schedule in respect of the item listed in column 1 of
the Schedule.
Labelling.
in such manner as to permit the product to be seen as English type
sausage or sausage meat.
(2) The label on the package or container of English type beef
or pork sausage, or of English sausage meat shall contain -
( a ) the brand or trade name, if any, and description of the
product;
( b ) the name and address of the manufacturer or person
responsible for the product;
( c ) the type or types of meat used;
( d ) a correct declaration of the net contents in terms of
weight;
( e ) the name or number, if any, of any colour or
preservative used;
( f ) the fact that it contains cereal or any seasoning, if
used.
