DIPLOMA IN GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING 
REGULATIONS

Citation.
Amended by:
L.N. 90 of 1991.
The title of these regulations is the Diploma in Guidance
and Counselling Regulations, and these regulations shall apply to
the courses starting in 1987 or later.
Admission.
and Counselling a candidate must have:
( a ) been registered as a part-time student in the Faculty of
Education for not less than two years;
( b ) completed the appropriate study programme;
( c ) satisfied the relevant assessment criteria;
( d ) satisfied all other requirements laid down in the
Regulations and Bye-Laws.
Registration.
Faculty of Education if he satisfies the requirements for admission
to the Diploma in Guidance and Counselling as established in the
Bye-Laws.
Course 
Programme.
3.1 The duration of this part-time evening course shall extend
over a period of two years.
3.2 The course programme shall consist of 30 study-units to
each of which a credit shall be assigned. A catalogue of study-units
and of the credits assigned to each unit shall be submitted by the
Faculty Board to the Senate for its approval.
3.3  The main areas of the course shall consist of:
A. Educational Psychology, Human Development and
Handicaps in Learning.
B. Guidance and Counselling.
C. Socio-Cultural Aspects of Education.
D. Measurement and Statistics, Test Construction and
Record Keeping.
E. Profesional Issues.
F. Long essay/project.
3.4 The Faculty Board may establish which study-units a
candidate may take in order to complete the appropriate course
programme.
