CONTROL OF FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE 
REGULATIONS

Unauthorised 
movement of 
certain animals 
prohibited.
2. (1) No person may cause, allow or permit the movement of
any bovines, ovines, caprines or swine, belonging to him or which
are under his care or control, into, within or out of any place or area
in Malta unless he has been so authorised in writing by the Director
of Agriculture, or by any person delegated by the said Director,
who, in either case, in granting such an authorisation, may impose
any such condition as he may deem fit.
(2) Any person who avails himself of an authorisation granted
as aforesaid under sub-regulation (1) of this regulation without
complying with any of the conditions to which the authorisation
was made subject, shall be deemed to have contravened sub-
regulation (1) of this regulation.
Power of Director 
of Agriculture to 
order vaccination.
3. (1) The Director of Agriculture may order the vaccination
of any bovines, ovines, caprines and swine in such manner and at
such time or times as he may deem fit.
(2) Any person who has under his possession, care or control
any bovines, ovines, caprines or swine which are to be so
vaccinated shall allow such vaccination to be made and shall give
all facilities required by the person authorised in writing by the
Director of Agriculture to carry out such vaccination.
Directives by 
Director of 
Agriculture.
4. The Director of Agriculture may issue directives intended
for the prevention of the spreading of the foot and mouth disease,
including any precautions to be taken in connection therewith, and
any person to whom any such directive applies shall comply
therewith.
