REARING OF BROILERS REGULATIONS

Interpretation.
requires- 
"Director" means the Director of Agriculture and Fisheries and
includes any officer of the department duly authorised by the
Director to act on his behalf;
"broiler" means a fowl which is raised for meat production and
which has not, at the time of slaughter, reached reproductive
maturity;
"producer" means a person who rears and keeps broilers intended
for sale for human consumption.

3. (1) No producer shall rear and keep more than twenty
broilers unless a licence is issued in his name by the Director. 
(2) A licence shall specify the maximum number of broilers
which can be kept by a particular producer at a specific place, and
it may not be transferred from one producer to another without the
specific authority of the Director:
Provided that the Director may periodically reduce during
the year the number of broilers to be kept at a particular time
according to a quota to be fixed at his discretion and to be advised
in writing to the producer.
(3) A licence may only be granted by the Director upon an
application by the producer on the appropriate form issued by the
Director.
(4) A licence shall be valid for one year, and may be renewed
by the Director from year to year.
(5) No licence shall be issued or renewed unless the Director is
satisfied that the place where the broilers are being kept is suitable
for such purpose, and no structural extensions or alterations may be
carried out in any place covered by a licence unless previously
authorised by the Director.

4. The Director may at any time enter any place where any
number of broilers is kept, or where he suspects that broilers are
being kept, irrespective of their number and whether kept by a
producer or by any other person, for the purpose of inspecting the
place and the broilers kept therein.
