NOTICE BOARDS ( _HAMRUN LOCAL COUNCIL) 
BYE-LAWS

Interpretation.
Cap. 363.
"Council" means the  _Hamrun Local Council;
"notice board" means any board, sign, placard, poster, notice, or
any other device or representation placed, displayed, fixed or
erected in any public place within the  _Hamrun locality boundary
which is intended for the purpose of advertising or publicity or for
conveying any announcement, information or message to the
public.

3. Without prejudice to any permit, authorization, or licence
required under any law, no person shall, display, fix or erect any
notice board in any public place within the  _Hamrun locality
boundary, unless he complies with the requirements established in
the guidelines issued or which may be issued from time to time by
the Council in terms of article 33(1)( g ) of the Act by means of
other bye-laws.
Notification to 
Council.
4. Any person who has obtained the necessary permit,
authorization or licence as mentioned in bye-law 3 shall, after
obtaining confirmation in writing from the Council that the notice
board complies with any guidelines in force, at least seven days
prior to the display, fixing or erecting of any such notice board,
give notice in writing to the Council together with a copy of such
permit, authorization or licence.
Offences and 
penalties.
5.1 Any person who fails to comply with the provisions of bye-
law 4 shall be deemed to have committed a contravention and shall,
on conviction, be liable:
5.1.1 for a first offence to a fine ( ammenda ) of ten liri;
5.1.2 for a second offence to a fine ( ammenda ) of twenty
liri;
5.1.3 for a third or subsequent offence to a fine
( ammenda ) of thirty liri, and
5.1.4 in the case of a continuing offence to a fine
( ammenda ) of five liri for each day during which the
offence continues.
