WEEKLY ALLOWANCE 
NATIONAL STANDARD ORDER

2.  In this Order the term "whole-time employee" shall have
the same meaning as is assigned to it by the Employment and
Industrial Relations Act, and "whole-time employment" shall be
construed accordingly.
Weekly allowance.

3. (1) Every employer shall pay, or cause to be paid, to each
of his whole-time employees on the last working day in March and
on the last working day in September of each year, a weekly
allowance consisting of a sum calculated at the rate per week as is
established in paragraph 4 of this Order or a proportionate sum for
any part of a week during which such employee was in his whole-
time employment during the six months immediately preceding the
date of the payment.
(2)  Where an employee is on the last working day of March or
September, as the case may be, no longer in the whole-time
employment of an employer, such employee shall notwithstanding
be entitled to receive the weekly allowance for the period in the
previous six months during which he was so employed.
(3)  With respect to the payment to be effected on the last
working day of March, 1989 consideration is to be taken of any
whole-time employment on or after the first day of January 1989,
and no consideration is to be taken, for the determination of the
weekly allowance payable on that date, of any whole-time
employment before the first day of January 1989.

4.  With effect from the first day of January 1994, the
allowance payable in terms of paragraph 3 of this Order shall be
two liri per week:
Provided that with respect to the payment to be effected on
the last working day of March 1994, the weekly rate shall be two
liri in respect of any whole-time employment on or after the first
day of January 1994 and of one lira fifty cents with respect to
whole-time employment after the last working day of September
1993 but prior to the first day of January 1994.

5. On the last working day of March 1999, whole-time
employees shall be paid by their employer once only a sum of
thirteen liri:
Provided that when an employee has not been in whole-
time employment with the same employer for the entire three-

month period between the 1st January, 1999 and the last working
day of March, 1999, such employee shall be entitled to receive
from his employer or employers a sum equivalent to one lira for
every week, or a proportionate sum for any part of a week, of
whole-time employment with such employer or employers during
the aforementioned period.
