MEDICAL OFFICERS OF HEALTH AND D.M.O.’S 
CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT REGULATIONS

Eligibility for the 
post of Medical 
Officer of Health.

2. No candidate shall be eligible for the post of Medical
Officer of Health unless he holds the permanent licence to practise
the medical profession in these Islands, has practised in, or
attended the practice of, a general hospital in these Islands or
abroad for not less than one year to the satisfaction of the Advisory
and Executive Board and has subsequently successfully undergone
a course of instruction in public health approved by the Minister
responsible for the Department of Health.

3. No candidate shall be eligible for the post of District
Medical Officer unless he holds the permanent licence to practise
the medical profession in these Islands and has practised in or
attended the practice of, a general hospital in these Islands or
abroad for not less than one year to the satisfaction of the Advisory
and Executive Board.
