THEATRES (PRICES OF ADMISSION) 
REGULATIONS
3rd June, 1960

Interpretation.
requires-
"licensee" means, in relation to a theatre, the person who holds
the Police licence;

"performance" includes a theatrical performance or a
cinematographic exhibition;
"price" means the total amount, including the duty payable under
the Value Added Tax Act;
"theatre" means a public theatre or a public cinematograph hall.

3. The licensee of a theatre shall display, and keep displayed
until the end of any performance referred to in this regulation, in
the entrance to his theatre and in such a position and manner as to
be plainly and distinctly legible, a plan, suitably framed, showing -
( a ) the seating accommodation in such theatre and any
arrangement thereof into different classes of seats; and 
( b ) the price charged for admission to any of the seats or
to different classes of seats in such theatre in respect of
any performance in the theatre for which tickets are
sold or seats are booked.

4. (1) The licensee of a theatre shall, if so required by a
notice in writing signed by or on behalf of the Commissioner of
Police, deliver to the Police Station and within the time specified in
the notice, an accurate copy of any plan which he is required to
display under the provisions of regulation 3.
(2) A notice issued under sub-regulation (1) of this regulation
to the licensee of a theatre may be made so as to apply either to
performances generally or to performances held or to be held on
any particular occasions, and so as to have effect either until the
notice is cancelled or during any period specified therein.

5. The licensee of a theatre shall not charge or attempt to
charge, for admission to any seat in his theatre, a price higher than
that shown in respect of such seat in the plan displayed in
accordance with the provisions of regulation 3.

Liability of 
licensee. 
6. For the purpose of these Regulations the licensee of a
theatre shall be liable for the acts and omissions of his servants or
agents.

7. Any person who acts in contravention of or fails to comply
with any of the provisions of regulations 3, 4 and 5 shall be guilty
of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine ( ammenda )
not exceeding twenty liri for each offence.
