INSPECTION OF MILCH ANIMALS REGULATIONS

Power of 
inspection.
2.  It shall be lawful for an inspector and/or for the Sanitary
Authority to inspect any farm, where milch animals are kept, for
the purpose of -
( a ) ascertaining the state of health of the said animals;
( b ) issuing instructions on the treatment of the said
animals, if necessary; and
( c ) taking all steps to prevent the spread of disease to
animal or man.

3.  (1) The owner of milch animals shall, when he suspects
that any of his animals is sick, ascertain, without any delay, the
cause of the illness and shall, if such cause consists of any of the
diseases set out in article 46(1)( b ) of the Food, Drugs and Drinking
Water Act, or set out in any order made thereunder by the Minister,
inform the Superintendent of Public Health within twenty-four
hours of such ascertainment.
(2) Any veterinary surgeon who becomes aware that any milch
animal is suffering from any of the diseases referred to in sub-
regulation (1) shall immediately inform the Superintendent of
Public Health accordingly.

4. The Superintendent of Public Health, on receiving any
information as is referred to in regulation 3, shall take any such
steps as he may deem necessary.
