SAUSAGES SUPPLIED TO THE BRITISH FORCES 
REGULATIONS

2. Subject to the provisions of the Import Duties Act, and of
regulations 3, 4 and 5 hereof a drawback of the import duties
charged on the goods mentioned in the First Column of the
Schedule shall be allowed on the supply to the British Forces of
sausages manufactured in these Islands at the rate specified in
respect of such goods in the Second Column of the Schedule.
Certificate from 
British Forces.
3. (1) A claim for the payment of drawback shall be
supported by a certificate issued by the competent authority on
behalf of the British Forces showing that the sausages in respect of
which the drawback is claimed have been supplied for consumption
solely by them; such certificate shall also give the separate weights
of the beef sausages and the pork sausages supplied.
(2) For the purposes of the payment of drawback under these
regulations a certificate issued in accordance with sub-regulation
(1) shall be sufficient evidence of the facts stated therein unless the
contrary is proved.
Keeping of 
records.
4. (1) The Comptroller of Customs may require the
manufacturer of the sausages to keep such records as he may
consider necessary to show the quantities of beef and rusks
imported or withdrawn from bond and used in the production of the
sausages on which drawback is claimed.
(2) Such records shall be kept available for inspection by any
officer of Customs on the premises of the manufacturer.
Customs control.
shall be weighed and inspected by officers of Customs on the
premises of the manufacturer, or at such other place as may be
determined by the Comptroller of Customs, at the manufacturer’s
expense and after such inspection shall be packed and sealed in the
presence of such officers.
(2) For the purposes of the inspection required in accordance
with the provisions of sub-regulation (1) the manufacturer shall
give the Comptroller of Customs not less than three days’ notice in
writing of the date on which he intends to supply the sausages to
the British Forces and such notice shall contain particulars of the
place at which and the hours during which such inspection may be
carried out.
Meaning of British 
Forces.
6. In these regulations the expression "British Forces" shall
have the meaning given to it in Part I of the Annex to the

Agreement on Mutual Defence and Assistance entered into between
the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland and the Government of Malta on the 21st day of
September, 1964.
