2. Subject to the provisions of the Import Duties Act, and of
regulation 3, a drawback of the import duties charged on the
completely knocked down parts, materials and accessories
incorporated in locally assembled cars shall be allowed when such
cars are supplied directly to any such persons as are, in accordance
with, or by an order made under the provisions of the Diplomatic
Immunities and Privileges Act, entitled to import a motor vehicle
free of import duty.

3. A claim for the payment of such drawback shall be
supported by -
( a ) a certificate issued by the person to whom a locally
assembled motor vehicle has been supplied showing
that the motor vehicle in respect of which drawback is
claimed has been supplied to him; and

( b ) a certificate issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
showing that the person to whom the locally
assembled motor vehicle in respect of which drawback
is claimed has been supplied is a person entitled to
import a motor vehicle free of import duty in view of
the provisions of the Diplomatic Immunities and
Privileges Act.

4. If a motor vehicle in respect of which drawback has been
paid under these regulations is subsequently disposed of in Malta
by the person to whom it had been supplied, the amount paid as
drawback shall be repaid by the person in favour of whom the
vehicle is disposed of.
