ANIMAL FOOD REGULATIONS 
18th September, 1945
GOVERNMENT NOTICE 448 of 1945.
Title.
Interpretation.
"animals" means cattle, sheep, goats, other ruminating animals
and swine;
"boiled" means exposed by any process to a temperature of not
less than 212º F;
"bones" includes ground, green or raw bones;
"swill" means any broken or waste foodstuffs, including table or
kitchen refuse, scraps or waste, containing any meat, bones, offal
or portions thereof or any other part of the carcase of an animal.
Swill to be boiled 
before being fed to 
animals.
3. No person shall feed or cause to be fed or bring or cause to
be brought into contact with animals, any swill unless and until it
has been boiled for a period of two hours.
Boiling and 
sterilizing of cloth, 
wrapping, etc.
4. No cloth, wrapping, sacking, or other material which has
been used for or in connection with the wrapping of meat, meat
products, offals, or other part of a carcase imported from South
America or any other country where foot-and-mouth disease is
declared by the Minister responsible for Health to exist, shall be
brought into contact with any animal in these Islands unless and
until that material has been boiled or otherwise thoroughly
sterilized after being so used.
Boxes, crates, etc.
used for or in connection with the carriage of meat, meat products,
offals, or other parts of a carcase (not being cooked or preserved
meats or meat essences) imported from South America or any other
country where foot-and-mouth disease is declared by the Minister
responsible for health to exist, shall be brought into contact with
any animal in these Islands.
