DIAGNOSTIC TESTS OF ANIMALS REGULATIONS

Diagnostic tests.

any animal for the purpose of identifying and controlling disease.
Carrying out of 
tests.
3. Such tests shall be carried out by a government veterinary
surgeon or assistant veterinary surgeon, or a person duly authorised
by the government veterinary surgeon.
Marking of animal 
if found infected 
with a disease.
4. Any animal found to be infected with a disease as
diagnosed under regulation 2 shall be marked in such a way as to
render future identification possible.
Marking of 
bovines.
5. All bovines tested for tuberculosis shall be marked in such
a way as to render future identification possible.
Testing of cattle.
to testing centres as and when required to do so by a general notice
issued by the government veterinary surgeon and published in the
Government Gazette or by a special notice addressed to the owner
or person in possession of cattle, for the purpose of having the
cattle tested.
Selling and 
disposal of cattle.
7. No person shall sell or otherwise dispose of cattle unless
and until he has obtained a certificate to the effect that such cattle
has been within one month before sale or disposal effectively tested
for tuberculosis and found to be free therefrom. Such certificate
shall be referred to as the tuberculin test certificate and shall be
issued and signed by a government veterinary surgeon.
Transportation 
from Gozo to 
Malta.
8. No person shall transport or cause to be transported from
Gozo to Malta or vice versa any cattle unless and until he has
obtained a certificate to the effect that such cattle has been within
one month before shipment effectively tested for tuberculosis and
found to be free therefrom.
Raw milk and milk 
products.
9. No person shall sell, expose for sale or otherwise dispose
of raw milk or milk products coming from cattle in which
tuberculosis is known to such person to exit. Such raw milk or milk
products shall be disposed of in such a manner as shall be directed
by the government veterinary surgeon.
Test for 
tuberculosis.
10. The test for tuberculosis shall be either -
( a ) the double intradermat tuberculin test, or
( b ) the comparative intradermic test.
