SCHEDULE
(Article 2)
List of trees protected by law
1. The group of ancient holm-oaks (Quercus Ilex) situated at
Il-Ballut tal-Wardija at the foot of the Wardija hills facing the
Pwales valley.
2. The group of ancient holm-oaks (Quercus Ilex) at
Im [iebah, limits of Mellie ]a.
3. The ancient olive-trees (Olea europaca) existing in the
lands of Bidnija, close to Wardija.
4. The following trees at Buskett:
( a ) the holm-oaks close to the main road;
( b ) the large ash trees (Fraxinus excelsior) in the valley.
5. The following trees in the Sant’ Antonio Gardens:
( a ) the large pine-tree (Pinus halepensis) at the back of the
Palace;
( b ) the collossal tree (Gleditschia triachanthos, ar.
inermis) and the old Indian coral tree (Erythrina
indica), both in the private gardens;
( c ) the group of pine trees close to the pumping station on
the main road;
( d ) the three huge Araucaria excelsa in the private
gardens;
( e ) the seven cypress trees (Cypressus sempervirens
pyramidalis) and the four cypress trees (Cupressus
sempervirens horizontalis) in the central part of the
public gardens;
( f ) the old olive trees in the said gardens.
6. The large pine trees in the Mall Gardens in San Filippo
bastion at Floriana.
