CATTLE BREEDING RULES
20th January, 1939
GOVERNMENT NOTICE 38 of 1939.
Title.
Application for 
licence.
2. Applications for a licence to keep a bull for stud purposes
shall contain the following particulars -
( a ) the name, surname and address of the owner;
( b ) the age and breed of the bull;
( c ) the place where the bull is kept;
( d ) the date on which the application is made and the
signature or mark of applicants.
Conditions to 
refuse, suspend or 
withdraw licence.
3. The Director of Agriculture may refuse, suspend or
withdraw any licence in any of the following cases:
( a )  if, in his opinion, a bull is unfit for service;
( b ) if, in his opinion, the bull or the premises where the
bull is kept, are not maintained in a sufficiently clean
condition; 
( c ) if the district where the bull is kept is already
sufficiently provided with service bulls, or

any of these Rules, have not been observed.
Validity of licence.
Renewal of 
licence.
5. Applications for renewal of a licence shall be made at least
a fortnight before the date of the expiration of the licence.
The licence is personal to the owner.
Owner of licensed 
bull to keep service 
book.
6. The owner of any licensed bull shall keep a service book
for every bull so licensed and shall record therein the following
particulars:
( a ) name, surname and address of the owner of any cow
served by the bull;
( b ) the breed of the cow so served; 
( c ) the date of service.
Such book shall be kept available for inspection by the
Director of Agriculture and by any other officer acting on his
behalf.
