LABELLING OF DRIED BEANS REGULATIONS

Title.
Regulations.
Interpretation.
"dried beans" includes all types of dried beans of the  Phasoleus
species, whether coloured or not, which are known to contain
substances called lectins, which occur naturally in the beans.
Labelling.
consumption unless the container or package thereof carries a label
stating the following:
"IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
To make the beans safe to eat it is important to follow these
instructions:
BEFORE cooking or eating the beans
(1) Soak beans for a minimum of five hours;
(2) Pour away the water;
(3) Boil the beans vigorously in fresh water for at least 10
minutes;
THEN follow your recipe.".
(2) The words on the label may either be in the Maltese or in
the English language only.
Notice to be 
displayed.
4. Wherever loose dried beans, other than prepacked dried
beans, are sold or kept for sale, there shall be displayed nearby a
notice bearing the information referred to in regulation 3. Such
notice shall be in both the Maltese and English languages, and shall
be prominently displayed in such manner as to be easily viewed by
the customer at the time of the purchase of such dried beans.
