MERCHANT SHIPPING FEES REGULATIONS
8th June, 1973

2. The fees payable for the services and certificates specified
in the Schedule shall be the fee specified in relation to each such
service or certificate in that Schedule:
Provided that the Minister may, under such conditions as
deemed appropriate, exempt any person or class of persons, or any
ship or class of ships, from all or part of the fees payable in terms
of these regulations.

Malta Maritime Authority, hereinafter referred to as
the Directorate of Merchant Shipping

In addition to the fees specified above, any service requiring the
attendance of the Registrar-General of Shipping and Seamen or a
Registrar of Maltese Ships or the Shipping Master or any other
official of the Directorate of Merchant Shipping or their
representative outside the normal hours of business of that
Directorate, hereinafter referred to as the normal hours, is subject
to a fee as specified hereunder:
( a ) if the service started during normal hours and finished
within one hour after normal hours - Lm 10;
( b ) if the service started within one hour before normal
hours and finished during normal hours - Lm 10;
( c ) otherwise, Lm 10 per hour or part thereof subject to a
minimum of three hours, so however that if the
service is given on any day between 2100 hours and
0700 hours, or at any time on Saturdays, Sundays and
Public Holidays the rate per hour or part thereof shall
be Lm 20 subject to a minimum of three hours:
Provided that other additional fees for the provision of services
outside of the offices of the Directorate of Merchant Shipping of
the Malta Maritime Authority or outside harbour or outside Malta
may be established by the Registrar-General at his discretion.
PART 2. Fees for Certificates and other documents
issued to seafarers

For the purpose of this Part ''certification
regulations'' means the Merchant Shipping (A.B. and
E.D.H Certificates) Regulations, and the Merchant
Shipping (Training and Certification) Regulations.
