PUBLIC ASSISTANCE (OATHS) REGULATIONS

(Oaths) Regulations.

2. In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires -
"the Act" means the Social Security Act;
"officer administering the oath" means the Director of Social
Services and any other officer in his Department authorised by the
Minister to administer oaths for the purpose of the proper
performance of his functions under and in accordance with the
provisions of the Act.
Oath.
following formalities:
( a ) any oral statement shall, before it is sworn to, be
written out and then signed or marked by the deponent;
( b ) it shall be the duty of the officer administering the oath
to satisfy himself of the identity of the person taking
the oath and to explain to such person the contents of
such statement;
( c ) the officer administering the oath shall pay due regard
to the solemnity of the act he is performing and shall
impress on the deponent the consequences of false
swearing;
( d ) the officer administering the oath shall state in the
attestation the place where and the date in which the
oath is taken and that he is satisfied that the deponent
fully understood the contents of the statement.
