Citation.
Degree of Master of Philosophy - M.Phil.
Degree of Master 
of Philosophy.
1. The course leading to the Degree of Master of Philosophy -
M.Phil. - shall be open only to:
(i) M.D. graduates of the University of Malta who:
( a ) have passed in the Final M.D. Examination in
their first sitting with at least Grade "B" in the
subject area chosen for further studies; and
( b ) have obtained their M.D. Degree at least two
years and not more than ten years before
applying for the M.Phil. Degree course;
(ii) B.Pharm (Hons.) graduates of the University of Malta
who have obtained their Degree with first or second
class honours;
(iii) candidates who have already given evidence of
proficiency in research and who do not fulfil the
requirements of paragraphs (i) or (ii) may apply to the
Faculty Board for permission to register for the
M.Phil. Degree Course. If accepted by the Faculty
Board such candidates shall be required to take a
special written qualifying examination, normally in
more than one subject, as may be determined by the
Faculty Board.
Thesis.
Short abstract of

3. A candidate shall be required to present a short abstract of
this thesis of not more than 300 words with each copy of the thesis
submitted to the University.

Within three months of passing the thesis examination, and before
conferment of the degree, the graduate must submit three copies of
the thesis bound as follows:
Size of paper: Quarto (250 mm x 200 mm) or
intermediate A4 (210 mm x 297 mm)
Margins: 40 mm on the left to allow for binding
Bindings: Art vellim or cloth; overcast; edges uncut;
lettered boldly up back in gold (30 mm to 12 mm)
