CONTROL OF CUSTOMS SHEDS AND AREA 
REGULATIONS

1960 and Act XIII of 1983.

Prohibition from 
entering into 
Customs sheds.

2. (1) No person other than a Customs officer, Police officer
or government employee on duty shall enter into any customs shed,
customs warehouse or other customs area except on lawful
business.
(2) Any person committing a breach of this regulation may,
without prejudice to his liability to any other penalty imposed by
any law, be removed from such area. Failure on the part of any such
person to obey an instruction given to him by a Customs or Police
officer to leave the area will render him liable to a penalty of five
liri.
Representatives of 
shipping agents.
3. Shipping agents or other persons having the custody of
imported goods shall be required to have, at each shed allocated to
them, a representative who shall be responsible for the proper
sorting and stacking of goods in the shed during the period when
imported goods are being landed and deposited into the shed.
Delivery clerks.

4. Shipping agents or other persons having the custody of
imported goods landed and deposited in any customs shed or wharf,
in accordance with the Customs Regulations, shall at any time
provide delivery clerks in the number required by the Comptroller
of Customs for the proper delivery of goods from the sheds or areas
containing uncustomed goods held by them.

5. Any shipping agent or other person mentioned in
regulations 3 and 4 who does not comply therewith shall be liable
to a fine, on conviction, of five liri for each act of non-compliance.
Withdrawal of 
consignments.
6. It shall not be lawful for importers or owners of any parcel
or quantity of goods invoiced as one consignment to withdraw such
goods from customs sheds in small separate instalments.
