AbstractThis research study was designed to investigate the role of Non-Contrast Spiral Computed Tomography (CT) and Intravenous Urography in the evaluation of renal and ureteric calculi. On the basis of findings, recommendations have been proposed to use Non Contrast Spiral CT as an alternative imaging modality for the evaluation of renal and ureteric calculi. This is because it includes faster diagnosis and avoids the costs and complications of contrast media. In addition, Non-Contrast Spiral CT is not only more sensitive for detecting a renal and ureteric calculus but is more accurate in assessing calculus size, which allows the physician to determine the course of treatment.
