Assignment Instructions

• The final deadline for all assignments will be determined later: announced in class and/or notices will be put on the IT and CSAI notice boards. Provisionally (unless told otherwise), it will NOT be later than 5 calendar days after the date of the last B.Sc. I.T. exam or test.
• The assignment reports/documents/disks are to be handed to Mr. Vincent Sammut in Room 202 Computing Building. Make sure you sign the sheet upon handing in your material. All assignments must be handed in by noon on "deadline day". IT IS YOUR RESPONISBILITY TO MAKE SURE YOUR ASSIGNMENTS GET THERE ON TIME (NO EXCUSES). In case of difficulty contact the tutor (before the deadline expires!)
• Do not submit any material to the course tutor.
• The front page of your document must show the Course Number/Code, Course Name, your Full Name, your Faculty/Department, the Degree Programme your are taking and your Year.
• All documents and disks will be available for collection from Mr. Vincent Sammut around three weeks after the final deadline. Please check with Mr. Sammut the exact procedure for picking up your material.
• Under no circumstances will the deadline be extended. Students who hand in their assignment late will not be awarded a grade.
• A demonstration of your work may be required. It is up to the student to contact the tutor to fix an appointment. All demonstrations must be completed before the final deadline. It is also up to the student to make arrangements for a computer to use for the demo. Should you have any difficulties contact the tutor. Any assignment that is not demonstrated (if required) will not be accepted.
• Languages allowed for demonstration include C, Java, Visual Basic, Delphi, Pascal and BASIC. Contact the tutor in case of difficulty.
• There is no minimum or maximum length for the assignment report.
• Grading will be based on Quality, Presentation and Documentation.
• Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
• All students MUST complete and attach as the second page of any submitted document an assignment declaration form. Download here.
• If the assignment requires a programming artifact, the code must be clearly documented. Both source code and executable versions of your product are required.
• A hard copy of your documentation is required. Electronic copies alone are not acceptable.
• Reports must include Printouts of Source Code (if applicable), Problems Encountered, any Choices or Assumptions made, an Introductory Description and any other material indicated in the Assignment. The documentation must include a Table of Contents.
• The student must clearly indicate which parts of the assignment hava not been completed, partially completed, or not attempted. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of all marks allocated to the assignment.
• Any third party libraries must be supplied.
