Refining the Home Directory

Adding a home index.html

You now have an operating home directory and know enough to be able to refine it by employing any of

Text styles
Tables and images
Different kinds of list.
Internal, local and remote hypertext links.

It remains to point out that the shape of the webspace (as provided by CSC) is like this:

When you point the browser at http://staff.cs.um.edu.mt/username you arrive at username's public_html directory.
Hence to connect to your www directory the URL is http://staff.cs.um.edu.mt/username/www/index.html.
If your URL terminates with a directory (not a file), most servers will automatically search for the file "index.html".
Hence a shorter URL to your home directory is simply http://staff.cs.um.edu.mt/username/www

A further option is to supply another index.html inside public_html as shown in red
