Traditional use proof refers to bibliographic literature that shows the use of the herbal medicinal product in tradition, either documented in old books and published material, or in ethnopharmacological survey articles, as published in journals such as the Journal of Ethnopharmacology (JEP), Journal of ethnobiology and ethnomedicine, Economic botany, amongst others. Other literature would include old pharmacopoeiae, compendia and formularies.
