Assessable Task 1

The deadline for submission is 15:00 on Thursday 8 November 2001. Note that the grading on this essay task will count towards the final unit grade (20%). Submissions that, in my view, plagiarise a source or sources - be they printed works and/or other students' essays - will be automatically and heavily penalised:

Write a brief essay on any two of the following:

  1. Extension and Prototypes
  2. Fixed and variable reference
  3. Translatability
  4. Sense

NB --> Length: 450-500 words each; 1.5 or 2-spaced; List of References appended
