Mr. Emmanuel Francalanza graduated with Honours in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Malta in 2005 and with an MSc in Integrated Product Development in 2008.

Mr. Francalanza occupies the position of Assistant Lecturer with the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Malta. He is currently preparing to commence his PhD research and his interests range from the use of IT in manufacturing, to the application of design methods in product development.

Previously he was employed for 5 years by Methode Electronics Malta Ltd, an automotive switchgear OEM based in Malta. The first two years at Methode he was employed in a manufacturing environment, where he worked on the design and manufacturing of jigs for use in laboratory testing and manufacturing automations. The last three years were spent in the Article Design department, where he started working on current engineering issues, and then went on to design automotive components, for customers such as Alfa Romeo, FIAT, VW, Mitsubishi & McLaren automotive, both at a concept level, and at a detailed production level.

As a student he was also involved with several student bodies, and served on a number of boards at the University of Malta.
