Cell Biology
This course deals  with the ultra structure and molecular structure of cells.  It is intended to provide the necessary background for medical students to understand the cellular and molecular disorders underlying diseases and the sites of action of drugs and chemicals on cells.  The minimum essential facts are presented together with examples of their clinical relevance. Biochemical details are not included in this section as they will be dealt with  in biochenistry.

1. Compartmentalization of the cell
2. Biological Membranes
3. The Nucleus: DNA, Chromosomes and chromatin
4. Mitosis, Meiosis and the Cycle
5. The Synthetic machinery of the cell
6. The Energy Generating Machinery of the Cell
7. The Motile Machinery of the cell
8. Lysosomes, Peroxisomes and Melanosomes
9. The Extracellular Structures
10. Cell Interactions
