Research Interest and Activities

Prof. Duncan Camilleri forms part of the Applied Engineering Mechanics research cluster at the University of Malta. Core research interests and activities include:

  • structural analysis of composite materials;

  • computational and experimental mechanics;
  • prediction and mitigation of welding residual stresses and distortion;
  • non-linear thermo-mechanical finite element analyses;
  • design and optimization of lightweight assemblies;
  • design, numerical modelling and testing of composite pressure vessels and piping;
  • vibration monitoring, machine diagnostics and modal analysis.
