Computer Logic and Organisation

Introduction
This course will be given to the evening Diploma ICT students in semester 1.This course will be given to  ICT, B.Ed and CSAI  and CIS with a subsidiary not CSE, in the second semester.

Textbook
Computer Organization & Architecture – Design for Performance, 8th edition, William Stallings, Prentice Hall – Pearson. We will be using material from first seven Chapters, and the material on Computer Logic in Appendices and Computer Arithmetic in Chapter 10.

10% course work                      90% examination

The textbook has a website WilliamStallings.com/COA/COA7e.html from where there is available a variety of useful additions including figurers, powerpoint presentation and a set of notes. My notes will include a considerable amount of material from this website and some additional material where there are differences in the syllabus from the material in the textbook.
